Vision Sports Analysis have teamed up with e-CAN to enrich our community site and help bring coaches and team’s even more useful resources, who are these new teammates?
e-CAN Ltd. is a newly formed company, founded by former FA County Coach Developer for Gloucestershire – Steve Lilley. The CAN stands for Coaching Advisory Network, and the first of its many programmes is Pass n Support, which aims to provide help and guidance to clubs and coaches within the Grassroots Football Community.
They have a team of highly qualified and experienced Coach Developers whose passion is supporting coaches face to face, in order to try and raise overall standards of coaching across the game.
The knock-on effect of this is that players enjoy, develop and have the opportunity to progress in their Football. e-CAN’s Pass n Support programme has a number of suggested means of supporting clubs and coaches, but ultimately, they are available and flexible enough to meet individual and collective needs, so can create bespoke programmes.
In addition to their Pass n Support programme, e-CAN have launched numerous other programmes during the Coronavirus lockdown, to support coaches, including a series of webinars with high profile guests from the coaching world, online club workshops, and online interactive post qualification groups. They are currently producing 5 specific 1-day CPD courses also – Coaching Futsal, Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders and Attackers – which are scheduled to be rolled out next month.
Director of e-CAN Ltd. says “Back in the Summer of 2020, the FA’s County Coach Development AND Coach Mentor programme were scrapped, and the L2 qualification paused, which meant there was almost zero support for Grassroots Coaches on the pitches. In addition, a number of fantastic Tutors and Mentors were left with no courses to deliver and no coaches to support, which I felt was a huge waste of professional resource. Therefore, upon redundancy, I formed e-CAN Ltd. and recruited some brilliant Coach Developers, who are about to embark on supporting coaches within our 31 x Partner Clubs. Naturally, the bulk of these clubs are in Gloucestershire, as it was my patch during my amazing 5 x years at the FA, but moving forward, we are looking to expand into other counties and widen the network in order to support the Grassroots Coaching Community”.
e-CAN’s mission statement is “to help raise standards of coaching in Grassroots Football, by providing Face to Face and digital support and accreditation for Clubs, Coaches and Players, challenging and empowering them to be the best they can be. In turn, helping to create and sustain positive environments for everyone involved in the game”…and I’m sure you`ll agree that so far, they are true to their word!
